Welcome to Clarksville's art hub, where creativity runs wild and the walls are always bursting with color. At Downtown Artists Coop Art Gallery, we are dedicated to showcasing the talent of local artists and providing a platform for them to share their work with the community. Whether you're a seasoned art enthusiast or just looking to add a pop of color to your walls, we've got something for everyone.

 

Interested in becoming a member?

DAC's first gallery space was located on the 2nd floor of 103 Franklin Street, above The Front Page Deli. The Gallery's first exhibit opened in July of 2002. In February of 2004, Downtown Artists Coop (DAC) moved its current location of 96 Franklin Street.

In addition to exhibiting work of the member artists, DAC hosts several events:

Pleinair

Art in the Streets, the first event sponsored by DAC, was conceived of as a street festival of work for display & sale by local artists, demonstrations by artists, and music performances on Franklin Street between 1st & 2nd streets. Pleinair took place on April 2002-2004. The original Pleinair event evolved into the annual "Frolic on Franklin" with Downtown Clarksville Association (DCA) organizing.

 

Crafts Bazaar

An annual sale of DAC artists' works which takes place on the first Saturday of December.  Both full & consignment artists are invited to reserve a table and wall space to display their work, which remains on display through December 31st. DAC Membership Exhibit offers full artist members the opportunity to exhibit

 

First Thursday Art Walk

A monthly event sponsored by DCA and Arts & Heritage Development Council (AHDC) which encourages the public to visit downtown to shop, dine, view art, see a play.  DAC hosts special events on these evenings which are free and open to the public. For more information on the Art Walk.

 

Gallery Talks

An informal gatherings of artists, patrons, and new work the public. Each artist or group of artists, who exhibit their work at DAC are invited to host a Gallery Talk during the run of their show to discuss and answer questions about their work.

 

Other Events/Exhibitions

As part of DAC's Community Outreach and educational activities, DAC hosts parties, exhibitions, meetings by outside groups & organizations, and free hands-on workshops encouraging creative participation by the public. Some of the many art exhibitions are the Gateway and Library "Children's Wall" galleries.
