Art journaling using Wabi-Sabi principles, is a wonderful way to bring forth our creativity and overcome our inner critic and perfectionism, to have fun, and foster our inner magic, in an atmosphere of support and play where we can appreciate the imperfections, incompleteness and impermanence of materials and process.
Using guided imagery, we will open our inner mind to listen to our 'Magic' Muse, and then express ourselves on the paper, by first dumping our negative thoughts and feelings from the inner critic, and then changing them to gratitude and appreciation through following the guidance of our Muse.
We will learn about making our own journals, different types and purposes of art journaling, various processes of collage, creating textures using stencils and stamps, salt, plastic wrap and other found materials, and how to use 'Gelli Plates', gesso, acrylics, water crayons and pencils, and how to 'white wash' our pages to enhance our art journaling.
